Chapter 5: May Plan and Goals

The time is literally flying by. Sheesh I am trying to hold on to all my edges. LOL  This time around last year I was dreading May because I had to get my wisdom teeth extraction. Well now I got so much to look forward to this month. The month of April was a total roller coaster. It was up and down, but I ended up right where I needed to be.  God really was working on me overtime,  and that I am so humble and grateful for.  Yes ladies, let get this month started on the right foot.

Fashion Note

I don’t have a lot of new trends, fashion alerts to post this month. As a Detroiter, we are still stuck in that in between weather. Not really knowing what to do, or how to be stylish when the weather is bipolar. One minute it is super cold, then not so warm, or then it too hot to handle. LOL  If you want to see a post on how to style yourself during the in between seasons, let me know in the comment section below.

FASHION REPORT: According to May’s issue of InStyle Magazine a few style trends and alerts to hop on this month are beachy, and bohemian theme patterns, prints, and style. Natural patterns such as crochet and fishnet looks are on trend. In addition, make sure you add a straw purse or beach bag to your collection this month. You use a straw bag for your spring time looks and infuse them in you summer, beachy looks as well. If you are looking for inexpensive straw bag, take a peek at the accessories and bags over at SHEIN.  To get back on track, souvenir inspired jewelry are making an appearance in today’s spring/ summer fashion.

If you are more of classic, timeless girl then you should keep your eye out for cargo pants. Speaking of cargo pants, maybe you can try out new colors, and patterns this time around, instead of you classic olive and khaki color. I am thinking abut experimenting with cargo pants on my body type. What are you thoughts on cargo pants? Let me know in the comment section below. Blog Note

So sis, I have a lot going on for the month of May. This is the first time ever that I have back to back collaborations/ sponsored post coming. I feel like my hard work, dedication, and consistency is starting to pay off. I took myself serious and people are finally reaching out to me. Remember… Never stop reaching out to brand and pitching. “Close mouths don’t get fed”. I still pitch 2 to 3 brands each month; I am so proud of that.

The cherry on top of pie is that I am walking in fashion show at the Michigan’s International Women Show this Thursday! Guess the brand? Well you have to make sure you are following me on Instagram and Facebook to see who I am walking for.  I was so shocked and filled with so much joy when they reached out to me! Yes, I have a lot of amazing content to share with you this month. It is so amazing to be able to align myself with great brands and companies that I believe in. So yes I am droppin gems for all of you. So strap on you seat belt and stay tuned y’all

Personal Note

On a personal note, I noticed last month when I had my little health scared that my thoughts ran rapid. I am fine by the way.  Anyway,  I was overthinking, I working overtime, and I was not getting the right amount of rest. Basically, I was trying to do too much at one time. This led me to getting sick towards the end of April. I was unable to eat, and my throat was killing me. Anyway I finally listen to body, after she starting screaming at me, that I need to take some time off and just rest. That what I did was take a nap and woke up when my body was ready to wake. So for the month of May, I am going to focus on listening to my body. And you should to sis! This is my temple and I have to make sure I care for it right. By eating right, and drinking lots of water, and working out. Real life note: I am still working out time to get to the gym. Take your time and get all the rest you need. This month I want to make more time for me and  my wellness. Here are my personal goals this month

  1. Drink 64 oz of water daily
  2. Try packing my lunch 3 days out of the week
  3. Pitch 2 to 3 brands this month
  4. Wash my comforter set on Friday
  5. Going to grocery every other week to stock up on produce
  6. Take 10-20 minutes just for myself only. No blog, No social media, just me !
