Turning 29: Lessons I Learned in My Twenties

So today is my 29th birthday… I am so thankful to see another birthday.  I have one more year to the BIG 3-0. To be really honest, I am kinda scared of getting older.  Simply I am afraid of the unknown and becoming irrelevant.  I recently was saying this in a previous post, simply discussing my plans as a 29 years old and so forth. To change my thoughts on the fear, I decided it would be best to focus and admire my growth. Growth in life is key. I am not the same girl I use to be, and I am so thankful. Instead of getting hyped up for about premature thoughts on getting older…. I am going to embrace my life, my age, and admire my growth! To admire my growth here are 29 things I have learned in my 20s. You can’t pour from an empty glass: I learned in order to be my best self, I have to make sure I take time to take care of myself. While working and blogging I learn that I had to invest more time for self and mental care. So every day now I take 10 minutes or more …

Glitz+Glamour New Years Inspired Outfit

Are you going out for New Years?  I know for myself this year has been a tough for me. I want to end this year off on a good note.  I want to celebrate and bring it in with a chic outfit too. Before I tell you about this outfit lets get into the back story. A few weeks ago I was invited to participate in New Years glamour photo shoot with a bunch of local bloggers, and influencers. I was super excited to link up with these ladies. I was really looking forward to building a relationship with them. Anyway I had to be on point for this shoot. Now to be honest I didn’t have any extra cash to run out to get a new outfit. If you know me  you know I shopped my closet. I was so pumped for the shoot however, it was cancelled due to photographer flight being delayed. I have to be honest I was super disappointed. However I was not going to let a cancelled photo shoot ruin my day. So I called my mom, told her what was going on, and we headed downtown. My mom is so awesome. FashionLayn’s Outfit …

It’s December

We are in the home-stretch now, right at the end of the year. We have less than 31 days to the New Years. Time has flown and I do not know where it went. It always seems like as soon as we enter into December, time is on auto speed. Wooah!   Can we all just say 2018 was super crazy? 2018 has been on an up and down roller coaster. One moment I was having a good time and everything was going great for me. Then the next thing I know it was a total shit show. (Side note: Excuse my language…. I had no other words to use to express how I feel about the lows) December is always a love-hate time for me. I love that it is near the end where I can start over and reinvent, however I feel like I am under a lot of pressure. Some times it take me out of the holiday cheer, I do not like that at all. Instead of being caught up in the rat race of hectic behavior, I decided I am going to focus on calm. Calmly, I am going to take all the things on …

Event Recap: Forever 21 Collaboration X Girls Inc

Last Wednesday, I had the opportunity to collaborate with Forever 21 at the Somerset Collection Mall to help with a really cool charity event.  Forever 21 partnered up with Girls Inc, a non-profit organization that helps underprivileged girls through different programming. Any PINK item that the customer purchases, Forever 21 donate $1 to the organization. On top of shopping for cause, F21 was also providing  beauty touch ups, F21 $10 gift cards for the first 25 attendees, and $100 gift card raffles, and styling tips for you know who, ME and so many other great influencers. This event was so much fun! I had a good time networking with other influencers and helping the customer navigate through their items. On Wednesday We Wear Pink!! I would not be me if I did not tell you all how excited I was when I got the email to work with Forever 21.  As a budget friendly blogger I take pride in how I look. I also feel like you do not have to break the bank to look good in what you where. Before I got in fashion hard, Forever 21 was my place to keep me on trend and fashionable without …
