Art of Layering- 3 Layered Looks for the Winter

Lets talk about layering okay. In the winter months it is not the most easiest thing to do, be stylish and warm. You get kind of trapped into the vicious cycle of wearing the same coat over and over. Cloudy and dark hues. It just not fun! So lets spice things up. On today’s post I am sharing 3 looks I curated to make winter wardrobe stylish and fun. Take a look below as I share a few tips on layering and staying warm. Look 1 This look is for when I am taking a walk out on the town. One of my favorite things to do on the weekend and walk Downtown. It is much more colder when I get Downtown because Detroit right off the water. So, layering is super important in the city, it gets really cold.So I need something comfortable and super warm. I reach for comfortable booties, leggings and sweater. On this look I am featuring a tan drop shoulder jacket from Shein. When it comes to layering I like to wear a thin jacket under my heavier coats. This jacket can easily go under a heavier coat to complete ensemble. In this look I …

OOTD| My Favorite Teddy Coat

Baby its cold outside! One of my favorite trends to help me stay warm during the winter months is a teddy coat or fleece. It is such an awesome piece to transition your wardrobe from fall to winter. On today’s post I am sharing my new teddy coat from Shein and all the other teddy coat I am loving for the winter. In other words drooling over, LOL! As I mention before I am such a huge fan of the teddy coat trend. On the weekends I like to browse through my favorite sites. I was glancing and I ran across this drawstring waist teddy coat in the color beige. I am such of fan of neutral color. Anyway back to the coat. I purchase this coat from SHEIN for $32 in size 2XL. Not a bad deal. This coat features drawstring waist line, with snap button that button down. This coat is regular fit, not oversized at all. So it you need more room I would suggest to size up. In addition, it has rubber like installation which is unusual to me. Overall I love the style, fit, and overall feel of this jacket. Teddy Coats & Fleeces I …

Why I Am Over Setting Resolutions in 2020

How has 2020 and the month of January treating you? I know for myself, so far I doing everything I supposed to do. I have been trying to get into a rhythm. I’m not going to lie it been hard. I set a resolution every year. My resolutions range from fitness, eating healthier, and self care. However, like most resolution I set, they become too hard to achieve. It maybe unrealistic or super vague. No action plan oh how I am going to tackle this kind of change. The next thing I know I become unmotivated within the 2 week or month mark and abandon them. I am over setting a resolutions for the new years.  You can say I am “anti- resolutions” this time around. Instead I am setting intentions. Setting an intention is different approach to goal setting. Goals represent a future plan. (Nothing wrong with goal setting). To amp up our goals, setting a intention everyday give purpose, I intend to …. To add, they work alongside our lifestyle. An unintentional life accepts everything and does nothing. An intentional life embraces only the things that will add to the mission of significance. -John Maxwell My Intentions I …

The Monochromatic Option for Valentines Day

What are you wearing for Valentines Day?  Valentines is 2 days away, lol you have some time to get on board ladies.  If you know me I am keeping this look budget friendly for the girls that are conscious about their coins. So I have this cute inexpensive monochromatic look.   When it comes to creating a “one color” look, simply keep to one color and add different textures, and gradients. I decided on blush pink, one of my favorite colors for the season. To be honest, I have been quite obsessed with monochromatic fashion. So I decided to experiment with it this time around. My look is clean, casual, chic, but still bringing a little wow-factor to the table. Guaranteed it will have your love interest trying to shoot their shot.. So if you want the tea on how I put together this  look… keep reading. FashionLayn’s Outfit Deets… I decided to branch outside of my quirky street theme and come with a monochromatic, feminine look. Glitz+Glamour New Years Inspired Outfit

Are you going out for New Years?  I know for myself this year has been a tough for me. I want to end this year off on a good note.  I want to celebrate and bring it in with a chic outfit too. Before I tell you about this outfit lets get into the back story. A few weeks ago I was invited to participate in New Years glamour photo shoot with a bunch of local bloggers, and influencers. I was super excited to link up with these ladies. I was really looking forward to building a relationship with them. Anyway I had to be on point for this shoot. Now to be honest I didn’t have any extra cash to run out to get a new outfit. If you know me  you know I shopped my closet. I was so pumped for the shoot however, it was cancelled due to photographer flight being delayed. I have to be honest I was super disappointed. However I was not going to let a cancelled photo shoot ruin my day. So I called my mom, told her what was going on, and we headed downtown. My mom is so awesome. FashionLayn’s Outfit …
