Chapter 8 | August Plan and Goals

August is the summer’s Sunday.  Yes, we are in the home stretch of summer. So it is time to put all your summer plans in motion. We gotta get it all done. Anyway I survived the mercury retrograde! Girl yes! I know I made it by the grace of GOD because I have been transitioning. We are going to say transitioning instead of struggling. So many good things revealed itself in July. I relaunched my blog. The energy that I received from this relaunch is amazing.  I am feeling so good about everything, and I excited to see what’s to come this month. On today’s blog post I will reflect and share my personal goals,  what’s coming to FashionLayn.com, and a brief fashion report.

Fashion Note

Since we are towards the end of the summer you can definitely catch all the end of summer sales!  Awesome deals… these stores are trying to make room for the fall  inventory. This is your time to get all your summer clothes on sale for next year or for the reminder of the summer. Hot girl summer girl! For myself, I start researching and reading up on the fall trends and styles. Fall is my favorite season!

FASHION REPORT: According to August’s issue of InStyle Magazine, “Satin Finish” is on the radar for the look of the season. I have had my eyes on silk dress! Trying to find one that fits my frame is kinda hard. On the other hand, transitional pieces from summer to fall is also on my radar. Maybe shorts and crew neck sweater! Or how about a cool mod look. For the transitional phase neutral colors are definitely your friend. If you have a bit of a cool style, keep your eye out for faux leather shorts or pant. Snakeskin print is still on the rise, so you will probably see this in fall months.

Fall color spotlights: gold and purple.
Accessories: Aviator glasses, Squared-toe boots,  Edgy pearls
Textiles: Dark floral print, romantic lace, leather, and sequins

For me think I am going try a few pieces from ASOS, Boohoo, and Pretty Little Things this month.

Blog Note

So I am trying to get back on my game. I am posting more and trying to get back into fashion. I am all finished with relaunching and updating my website. So this month my focus for the blog is to keep reaching out to brands. Pitching them and praying that one of them bites. On top of pitching, I definitely want to improve my content and photo quality.  Lastly, I am also working on finally launching my YouTube channel. I honestly feel like I am very relatable person, so I want to people to feel my vibes. The only way I know how to do that is to face my fears and get in front of the camera. I am filming my first video this month. My channel is going to be an extension of my blog.  I am going to share makeup tutorial, real life advice, vlogs, and my everyday shenanigans. Personal Note/ Goals

So this month it time to practice what I preach. It is time to find a therapist. Now I am not going through anything personal or tragic.  I just want to sit down with someone and just talk. I was talking to someone a few days ago and she help me a small issue. She is really a good mediator.  I need that person to help me navigate through my mind and get to the root on why I do certain things. Dealing  with anxiety, my mind is constantly at war with itself. I see it getting a bit worst, so I need some HELP! Not ashamed to admit I need a little help. So that what I am going to do, find help. All I want is to be a better me for myself.

1. Getting to the root of my issues – committing to finding a therapist
2. Celibacy for the rest of year – I just need time to get better with myself and being intimate can add more confusing to my world. I just need to be with myself.
3. Drink 64 oz of water every day
4. Pitch 2 to 3 brands each month
5. Take 10-20 minutes just for myself only. No blog, No social media, just me!
