Summer Monochromatic Style

“We on da River wit it”…. LOL just a little Detroit humor.  Recently I was on the Detroit Riverfront  soaking up the sun. Omg the weather was amazing this day I was so happy that I was able to shot. This moment was so full circle for tMalaika (photographer) and myself. A few months back we were taking  pictures on the riverfront, however it was kinda cold, the lake was frozen over, and it was a muddy mess. We finally made it back around to riverfront to capture these amazing photos.

This time around we were shooting for my new website launch. I came up with this cute monochromatic look that went so well with the riverfront. On today’s post I will be sharing with you all, how I put together this monochromatic outfit for the summer. August is near and it time to make the last of summer weather count.

I am giving y’all timeless classic pieces hear.  Okay ! So proud of this look that I put together. Most of yall know I really don’t have a plan when in mind when I come up with my looks. I just do it.  Well this time I had a plan, I knew for my website relaunch I wanted to feature a monochromatic look. So me and my friend headed to Somerset Mall, and that when I found this simplistic knit tank top from Forever21. You can describe this tank as a fine knit ribbed  rayon- blend with a slightly low front and back neck line.  Also it is somewhat fitted. This shirt can be found at Forever21 for $14.90. A tank like this definitely something you want to think about adding to your collection as we start to transition into the summer to fall season.

To bring the monochromatic look together I added my high rise fray skinny jeans to the mix. This jeans I purchase from Target a while ago and they fit very nicely, and for some reason make me look a bit taller.  These jeans are from Target’s Universal Threads collection. These jeans are a cotton blend crisp off-white skinny jeans that feature, high rise fly, and a fray hem to bring some edge. Lastly, I added my favorite block nude pumps and gold accent jewelry. This look was really fun to put together. If you want to see more looks like this please let me know in the comment section.
